Halpha Environmental Testing Zone Survey/Maps

From PSO2: New Genesis Wiki

Due to scale, this section is always to be considered a work in progress and may take months to complete!

Mmaps are generated with two to three trapped sectors, as well as a safe zone sector in the center that serves as the start point. If no sectors have been cleared by the time the Trial starts, the spawn point sector is where the Trial will begin.

Grid Templates

Leciel maps are generated daily based off a grid template, and then populated with sectors that match the rules the template sets.

Open Board

A wide-open map. All interior sectors are open types, and the exterior is made up of wall-types as well as four corner-types. Due to how this map generates, there are no dead end-type sectors.

Spiral

Incredibly closed map with very limited pathways. Trapped sectors can often completely lock off certain parts of the map depending on location. The outer wall is made up of hallways and corner sectors leading into dead ends, leading to the "spiral" name.

Hallways

A map with no open sectors outside of spawn. Four different hallway-type sectors appear through the map, limiting the ability to traverse through the area even more. While inconvenient to navigate, a single trapped sector cannot block off multiple sectors.

Depending on the map generation rules for the day, it's possible to see many repeat sectors next to each other in this map setup.

Closed Corners

A map made of an open inner portion, while the outer portion is made up of corner sectors and dead ends cutting through the cardinal directions. While the outer ring can be annoying to navigate, it is overall easy to reach your target destination.

Extremely prone to having multiple repeat sectors next to each other, and trapped sectors can lock off four spaces at once depending on where they're at.

Sector Types

Open

Sectors with four entrances. These can be found anywhere in the interior 3x3 of the board, but never on the outer grid.

The spawn point sector will always be an open-type sector with eight Restasigne in it.

Wall

Sectors with three entrances. They are most commonly found along the outer walls of the map, but can be found in the interior 3x3 as well depending on map type.

Hallway

Sectors with only two entrances. Usually found next to a Wall sector.

Dead end

Sectors with only one entrance. These are either found on the corners in some map variations, or on cardinal points in others.
