Halpha Environmental Testing Zone Survey/Strategy/Enemy defeat

From PSO2: New Genesis Wiki

The most basic type of sector where you defeat all enemies present. While most are straightforward, some have tools in the map to assist with defeating enemies faster.

Normal type

Sectors with no secondary mechanic whatsoever. These sectors will often make up for the lack of gimmick by utilizing terrain such as trees and hills to hide ranged enemies.

Punisher type

Rooms stocked with Protopunishers and Megapunishers. Destroying them when enemies are nearby helps defeat them quickly, or inflict Elemental Down.

Skycharger type

Rooms with Skychargers in them. These rooms are cleared faster by leaping into them and then using a Dive Attack on the packs of enemies that spawn.

Skycharger rooms often feature pits you can fall in to punish you for missing a dive attack.

Plasma Trap type

Rooms with Plasma Traps in them. These rooms are cleared much faster by utilizing the high-power counterattack it offers.

Mobile Cannon type

Rooms that allow you to equip the standard Mobile Cannon used in Mining Rig Defense-type quests. Upon clearing the room, you can no longer access the equipment delivery device, but you can take Mobile Cannons out of the room into other ones to quickly travel using Boost Glide.

Cold Photon type

Rooms with Crystalline Ice and Cold Photons hovering around in them. Setting off the Cold Photon helps deal massive damage and clear out the small enemies, while the remaining Ice can be used to deal larger damage to bigger enemies.

Tendal type

Sectors where a Tendal hovers above the room, healing all enemies inside it. The Tendal must be destroyed before challenging the rest of the enemies.

To account for the massive damage the Tendal does to enemies upon destruction, there will be two enemies equipped with Enhancer cores.

Volgris type

A special gimmick, the Volgris, appears in these sectors. All non-Starless enemies will be Elite.

The Volgris will periodically fire rockets into the air, which come back down as an area attack. Players in the blast range take heavy damage, while enemies within the blast range take 80% max HP in damage.

While you can destroy the Volgris, it is recommended against using it to deal massive damage to the Elite enemies instead.

Blastasigne type

These sectors will have an above-average amount of powerful enemies in them. In return, multiple Blastasigne will be hidden in the sector, allowing you to take them out quickly using your Photon Blast.

Blastasigne will remain after clearing the sector, so you can also save them to collect later in the exploration.
