Overview Battle Modes Cards and Decks

Overview

Line Strike is a card game loosely based on Mining Rig Defence in which players battle by placing cards onto a 3x3 Grid then comparing the total value of their cards on each vertical line of three squares with each match taking roughly 2-3 minutes. The game board consists of 3 vertical columns of three squares. These columns are referred to as "Lines".

How to Play

Decks consist of 15 cards, and up to three of the same card can be in the same Deck. When the game starts, Players will draw five cards from their Decks as their starting hand. You may redraw their starting hand once. Starting from the second turn, both Players draw 1 card from their Decks. In addition, when a Base is destroyed, draw 1 card.

Placing a card onto the Grid consumes PP respective to the card placed. Players may summon any number of times in a turn, provided they have the PP to do so. At the start of each turn, Players receive 3 PP. Up to 10 unspent PP may be carried over into the next turn.

At the end of the turn, the Player with the highest total Attack on a Line earns the right to attack. Each Line has a "Base" with HP. The attacking player deals 1 - 3 points of damage to the enemy Base equal to the number of cards they have on that Line. Once a Base's HP is reduced to zero, it is destroyed. The Player to destroy two enemy Bases first wins.

Overwriting Summoning

When placing cards onto the Field, instead of placing them on open squares, Players may also place them on top of other cards they have already placed themselves. As long as the new card is of the same Element and also of greater PP Cost than the card on the Field, you may overwrite it by spending the difference in PP Costs only. Note: Active effects on the card you overwrite will not be carried over to the newly placed card.

Card Incapacitation

If a card's Attack is reduced to zero while placed on the Field, due to a Disrupt Skill or otherwise, it becomes Incapacitated. While Incapacitated, the card may not participate in attacks, and its Passive Skills are inactive. However, it can still be used to Overwrite Summon another card onto it. If a card's Attack increases to one or greater while it is Incapacitated, it is restored.

Battle Modes

Line Strike consists of 4 different modes, these being Ranked, Unranked, NPC, and Free Battle.

Ranked Battle

Ranked Battle is Line Strike's competitive mode, you can only matchmake for this mode, winning or losing will result in your Rating to increase or decrease respectively.

Ranked Battles offers the highest amount of Card Scratch Vouchers for winning compared to other modes, it also offers the least for losing/drawing, making it a riskier way of grinding your weekly Card Scratch Voucher limit as you'll receive less for losing and your Rating will decrease.

Ranked Battle Rewards
Victory NGS Pass Icon Card Scratch Voucher x8
Loss/Draw NGS Pass Icon Card Scratch Voucher x2

Unranked Battle

Unranked Battles are one of Line Strike's casual modes, you can only matchmake for this mode, winning or losing will not have an impact on your Rating.

Unranked Battles offer Card Scratch Vouchers for winning and losing, Unranked Battles don't offer as many Card Scratch Vouchers as Ranked Battles does for winning, however it offers more for losing, making it less risky and a more casual way of grinding your weekly Card Scratch Voucher limit.

Unranked Battle Rewards
Victory NGS Pass Icon Card Scratch Voucher x5
Loss/Draw NGS Pass Icon Card Scratch Voucher x3

NPC Battle

NPC Battles are one of Line Strike's casual modes, in this mode you are competing against one of the various NPCs in a battle of Line Strike.

NPC Battles offer Card Scratch Vouchers for winning and losing, this mode offers the least amount for winning and offers the same as Ranked Battles for losing, this mode is safer to grind as you'll only be playing against NPCs and can be used if you're unable to find another battle through Ranked or Unranked.

NPC Battle Rewards
Victory NGS Pass Icon Card Scratch Voucher x3
Loss/Draw NGS Pass Icon Card Scratch Voucher x2

Free Battle

Free Battles allow you to battle against whoever you want, making it the perfect mode to play Line Strike against friends, this mode does not offer any rewards for winning or losing.

You can compete in this mode through the Line Strike menu, however certain Build Parts will allow you to automatically participate in Line Strike Battles provided you and another player are interacting with the Build Part.

Spectate Battle

Spectate Battle allows you to view current Line Strike games. You can utilize this to view high Rating battles in order to learn strategies and card synergies that other players use, allowing you to further your own capabilities.

Cards and Decks

Line Strike Cards are obtained through Card Scratch Vouchers which are used to pull from the Line Strike Card Scratch. You can obtain up to 300 Card Scratch Vouchers a week by participating in Ranked, Unranked and NPC Battles. To obtain more each week you can trade-in unwanted Line Strike Cards for Card Scratch Vouchers or buy them for ARKS Cash.

Card Elements

Line Strike Cards are each tied to an Element, meaning there are 6 different Elements of Cards. You will need to consider the Elements you're Deck consists of when building in order to Overwrite Cards and make effective use of their Skills.

In addition to this there are Holo Foil variants for each card, this has no impact on the performance of a card, however they are rarer and have a cosmetic effect over them.

Card Skills

Cards can have one of three types of Skills:

  • Passive Skills will remain active provided the card with a Passive Skill is on the field and hasn't been incapacitated.
  • Support Skills strengthen your allies, and will only activate once Support Skills effects will activate after before Disrupt Skills.
  • Disrupt Skills weaken your opponents, and will only activate once. Disrupt Skills effects will activate after Support Skills.

Decks

Decks consist of 15 Cards, and up to three of the same card can be in the same Deck (Holo Foils count as the same card). You can create several Decks and customize their Name, Sleeve, and Playmat allowing you to create multiple strategies to pick from prior to matchmaking.
