= Basic information =
''For information about Hunter's weapons, see [[/Equipment]]. For information about its Class Skills, see [[/Skill Tree|Skill Tree]].''

Hunters are a short-range melee class that can equip Swords, Wire Lances, and Partisans. Boasting the highest defensive stats of any class, as well as multiple defensive options, they can stay at the front line of an encounter without worrying about slowing their assault down.

= As a Sub Class =
<div>
Sub Class Hunter offers very little in the current state of the game that cannot be accomplished better through other Sub Classes, as the effectiveness of {{Skill|Hunter Physique}} and {{Skill|Flash Guard}} are greatly reduced and Iron Will cannot be used.

Line 25 ⟶ 31:
* Multi-weapon system and Skill Point restrictions means you often only use two of your three weapons, and one is often a Sword
* While options are varied, attack range is mostly very narrow
* CanPartisans can struggle in PSE Bursts if not using Type 3 Calibur Streak
* {{Skill|War Cry}} doesn't work
</div>

= Misconceptions =
<div>
* Despite having the highest HP and Defense, Hunters are not immortal damage sponges. This leads into the second misconception, which is that...
* '''Hunter is not a tank or paladin''', and trying to play a full HP/Guard build will not work, especially because...
* '''Using War Cry off cooldown is often harmful''', as in most gameplay situations it just makes a boss change targets for a few seconds, interrupting other players. If you aren't dealing the most damage after using the ability, then bosses will often change back to their previous target anyway.
</div>
